Happy Wednesday Guys & Dolls!

Let’s talk Stitch Shoppe by Loungefly. When Loungefly let the world know they were now designing clothing it was a no-brainer that I had to grab a few pieces. That first collection was amazing! but did come with challenges for myself. So I wrote about it here.

Loungefly/Funko being an incredible company, decided that my experiences were one-off and sent over pieces for me to try. I was astounded by how kind and open the company was and so wanting and willing to work with me and work past the sizing issues I had had.

So in this post, we will go over what happened, what my weight has to do with it, and what I think about how the brand handled this situation (HINT: with class and respect). Let’s get into it!

Stitch Shoppe by Loungefly debuted in the Summer of 2020 and as I stated above I KNEW I had to have various pieces. What was happening to me at the time though were various health issues and ballooning up in weight. I assumed that sizing was going to be just like it had always been and so I ordered an XL in just about everything I wanted.

When I got everything I was shocked at how it fit. It’s important to stress that the clothing wasn’t the issue per se it was me not reading the size chart well and me in complete denial about my ballooning size. After returning just about everything and repurchasing in a 2X (which ended up fitting way better) It was a real wake-up call to start a new journey, but that’s for another post on another day.

The one qualm I had was that there was a lack of “give” in any of the clothing. If you’re on bigger in size like me you’ll know we are BIG FANS of a little elastic or materials that stretch because we love having the room to breathe while also giving us some shape in our waists. A lot of the pieces just don’t have that give. I’m happy to report that is changing, but we can talk about that later.

Cut to my blog post about which brands have amazing Disney clothing (it was with a focus on Plus Size brands). I made mention of the fact that the clothing could be tight if you haven’t gotten the sizes right (something I admittedly did). and the kind folks at Funko (owners of Loungefly) reached out to me wanting me to give the collection another chance. I accepted for several reasons:

1: I appreciated the company for reaching out and wanting to actively change my mind about their sizing. Remember, I didn’t try again because my budget wasn’t in line.

2: I had lost a lot of weight by then and wasn’t sure about my sizing anymore (turns out I’m a 1X with this brand).

How did it all turn out?

Wonderfully. I understand the fit a lot better after being personally sized. I understood my mistakes and everything fit like a glove. The Disney Villains velvet dress fits wonderfully, it runs big so I recommend you size down if you decide to grab it.

The NBC dress fit perfectly as well. with my shrinking waist, I needed a 1X this time and it fits great at the belly. The chest area was slightly big but not by much. If I ever wanted to wear a shirt under it (which I did for the photos) I would have room for it.

Now we come to the new Star Wars Collection. Here’s a SNEAK PEEK at a couple of pieces from the BRAND-NEW Star Wars Collection by @stitchshoppebyloungefly! The collection debuted last Friday over on Loungefly.com.

The NEW Kelly top feels so comfortable and I love the detailing, while the REDESIGNED Sandy skirt has ELASTIC IN THE BACK! I loved how it felt on me! Thanks to Loungefly for gifting me these pieces!

Sizes include a wide range of S-4XL. I am wearing a 1X in the Kelly top and a 1X in the Sandy skirt having lost 23lbs and some of my waistline.

In the end, my review is this: Try out Stitch Shoppe by Loungefly not just because the clothing is amazing but because honest, kind, and respectable people are behind it. The understanding that my first experiences weren’t the greatest because of my lack of understanding and my total denial about the size and still willing to work with me is all you need to know about their mission statement. They want you to look amazing, no matter the size. Who doesn’t love that?

Prices are mid-range to expensive but the quality is what makes all of their collections worth it.
